Kitty’s Roadhouse has been a Hastings staple for over 13 years. Bringing the locals and travelers delicious American cuisine with a retro diner-style experience.
About Kitty’s Roadhouse
In 1972 the building that is now known as Kitty’s Roadhouse was leased by Art and Carolyn Kitten. Raising their five kids the Kitten family started the reputation of fun with good friends at the bar they named “Kitty’s.” Because there were so many fond memories along with all the friendships, fun, and history behind Kitty’s, Kim and Owen Nelson decided to keep the name after purchasing the business in 2009 from the Kitten family. They tacked on the word “Roadhouse” to the name along with a tiki bar in the back and a full kitchen. Roadhouse stands for a food and beverage establishment, but history has it that a Roadhouse was a parlor, billiard room, and a dance hall with “other” more colorful entertainment for the men in the basement. No, Kitty’s has no basement, but does anyone want to help dig one?
Scott Hinerman took over Kitty’s Roadhouse in 2023 and continues to bring a friendly atmosphere for people to enjoy their favorite beverages and get to know people. He has added his own flair to the menu by using his passion for smoking/BBQ and his knowledge in the culinary field. Scott, his dad – Wayne, and his siblings all pitch in to bring a great dining experience to the community they consider home.
